13. Cartagena, Colombia
Go no further than Cartagena, Colombia, if you are looking to spend Christmas in the warm South American weather. They have a celebration called “Little Candle’s Day” in early December. It is an occurrence where families light candles and put them on the street in memory of the Virgin Mary. So you can experience the city with a beautiful candlelight. As you can imagine, this city takes Christmas very seriously. They decorate the Christmas, and you can feel like you are truly experiencing the magic of the holiday.
In addition to the Christmas cheer, you can relax on the beach or shop at the Mercado de Bazurto market. It’s cheap food in Cartagena, and you can enjoy a nice lunch for about $5. If you’re a tourist who doesn’t know much Spanish, we recommend staying at one of the hotels. Or a more massive resort instead of AirBnB. This will ensure that you and your family are completely safe and able to enjoy your stay.
