4. Bannerman Castle
The castle was built in 1901 by Francis Bannerman VI, a Scottish-born proprietor of a military surplus supply company, to store his company’s cannons and other equipment inside. However, a fire destroyed it in 1969, leaving it as the remains it is now in the middle of the Hudson River in Beacon, New York.
