Sewing Machine Stand Planter

17. Sewing Machine Stand Planter

The sewing machines used to be so big and bulky, often made entirely of cast iron, that they used substantial and excellent metal and wood racks. These racks are ideal for use as a planter, with the former casing of the machine making a perfect basin for plants. Old English garden plants like chrysanthemums and lavender look particularly attractive in a classic sewing machine rack. The vines or cascades falling from the basin also give the audience a peculiar, aged appearance.
