Keep an eye out for any abandoned houses when visiting a neighborhood. Since there is often criminal activity or homeless squatters breaking into these homes, they often increase the city’s crime rate. These abandoned properties are unsightly, and they can also depreciate the value of your home.
If you have kids, they might be tempted to investigate this abandoned home. It can appear to be both “spooky” and a fun place to explore. However, if they go inside, they risk being injured or even ending up in a dangerous situation.
