34. Dogs should not be given all nuts.
Some nuts are safe for dogs to consume, but you should avoid others. Vomiting and diarrhea are possible side effects of a high-fat diet. With just a few nuts, your dog could be on his way to the vet for an emergency. Dogs should avoid both black walnuts and macadamia nuts. If given in tiny amounts, you can tolerate peanuts, almonds, and cashews.
It is also preferable for dogs to eat unsalted varieties of these nuts. You should also avoid providing peanut butter to your dog because it may contain dangerous chemicals. Nuts should not be given to dogs with sensitive stomachs or pancreatitis to prevent further difficulties. If you think your dog ate too many of the wrong kinds of nuts, consult your veterinarian.
