Lowering blood sugar and leading to liver failure is a severe progression caused by this substance. The initial symptoms of xylitol are vomiting, lethargy, and problems with coordination. Worse than convulsions. Pet owners should be careful with which food products contain xylitol. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with your veterinarian if this is the case with your pet.
