In 1984, Vanessa Williams was the first African-American woman to win the Miss America beauty pageant, which earned her a massive career in modeling. Sadly, the title was taken away from Williams after unauthorized nude photos of the star were leaked to Penthouse magazine. Williams attempted to kickstart a career in music but found herself mostly on television. Her notable recent projects include Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives.
