Julie Newmar

Julie Newmar was born in Los Angeles in 1933. Her most notable role was Katrin Sveg in Broadway’s The Marriage-Go-Round, which earned her a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress. After that success, Newmar took on the role of Catwoman in the superhero classic Batman, a television show very well-known in the 1960s. In the 1970s, Newmar pivoted her career and focused on other businesses, where she received two patents, specifically for pantyhose and a brassiere.
