Changing Attitudes Toward Photography

In the past, the Amish communities held a staunch aversion to photography, primarily because it was closely linked to modern technology, and there were concerns about individuals being forever “captured” in images.

However, over time, there has been a gradual shift in some Amish individuals and communities towards greater acceptance of photography. Despite this shift, photography still maintains a relatively minor presence in their lives since the Amish continue to refrain from using cameras and cell phones as part of their distinct way of living.
