Cashews

Cashews, with their unique appearance, could remind one of the whimsical dancing mushrooms from “Alice in Wonderland,” especially due to their vibrant red hue. However, these are part of the cashew tree, with the ‘nuts’ attached to the apples.

People often discard the cashew apples, but they highly covet the nuts at the bottom of the fruit. Interestingly, during World War 2 shortages, various industries used the cashew apple for different purposes, including in arms production.
