29.When in doubt, keep a “Maybe” pile handy.

A “maybe” pile contains stuff you aren’t sure if you should get rid of but aren’t sure if you should keep. You can go through your maybe bank once you’ve gone through and determined which goods you’ll get rid of and which you’ll save. So, while you haven’t worn the sweater your favorite aunt knitted for you in college in years, it holds nostalgic significance. Would you please put it in the maybe pile and decide whether or not to keep it in a few hours?

29.When in doubt, keep a "Maybe" pile handy.

Because there will be many maybes, it’s a good idea to separate them into their pile. It provides you more time to consider your options. And, perhaps, once you’ve hung all of your “yeses” in your closet, you’ll be able to let go of some of the maybes a little easier. If the Maybes are sentimental items that you don’t wear, you can store them as well. Everyone gets a box of memories, and you can fill it with clothes as well. You can also keep a maybe section in your closet, and if you have not worn any of those items in six months, they are out!
