3.Fertilize
Plants, like all living things, require nutrients to develop and reach their full potential. Phosphorous, nitrogen, and potassium are the three elements that plants crave the most. These chemicals are usually listed in numbers like 1-1-1 or 2-4-2 on pre-mixed fertilizers.
A 1-1-1 fertilizer is equal amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium and is highly diluted. Two parts nitrogen, four parts phosphorous, and two parts potassium make up a 2-4-2, which has a higher overall potency. Some fertilizers, such as 30-30-30, must be heavily diluted before use; research what your unique plants and grass type require before applying.
