Not The Time For Pranks
There’s playful, there’s weird, and then there’s shoving something in someone’s face while claiming it smells funny — all on a first date. This guy apparently thought that kind of prank was a solid icebreaker. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. His date was left disgusted, confused, and probably questioning her life choices in real-time.
Maybe he thought it would be funny. Maybe it worked on his college buddies. But dates aren’t frat parties, and pulling a prank before dessert is not the move. It’s hard enough to build a connection with a stranger, let alone when they’re making you dodge mystery napkin smells. Unsurprisingly, this first date was also the last. Hopefully, he learned that jokes require context — and timing. And maybe next time, he’ll just stick to asking about someone’s favorite movies instead of treating the date like a sixth-grade dare gone wrong.
