How Rude!
There are ways to be honest on a date without being hurtful. But this guy missed the memo. He started a sentence with “I thought you’d be…” and followed it with something that instantly crushed any good vibe. Whatever he said, it clearly wasn’t flattering. Comments like that might seem funny in your head, but once they’re out there, they can’t be taken back.
Catherine wasn’t having it. And who could blame her? She had every right to cut the date short and walk away with her pride intact. It’s one thing to be direct — it’s another to be flat-out rude. Hopefully, the guy learned a little about timing, tact, and basic respect after that night. First dates are about making a connection, not tearing someone down with poorly phrased “observations.” If nothing else, Catherine got a story, and he got a lesson in how not to flirt.
