When You Shouldn’t Recycle

While we appreciate the creativity and resourcefulness of repurposing materials, there are some items that should not be repurposed or reused due to health and safety concerns. Hypodermic needles, fully consumed batteries, and dog nail clippings are just some of the items that should be disposed of properly. In particular, dog nail clippings can carry harmful bacteria and parasites.

It’s understandable that people want to reduce waste and make use of what they have. In this case, using a dog’s nail clippings to make a pen is not only unhygienic, but it’s also likely to be ineffective and impractical. There are plenty of other materials that can be repurposed in creative and safe ways without compromising our health and well-being.
