18. Vernon’s Office
There is a modest wood-framed building on the grounds of Graceland that was built in 1939. The original purpose of this one-story structure was to house servants. Vernon Presley, Elvis’ father, had his office in this modest structure.
Colonel Tom Parker was in charge of Elvis Presley’s professional career, while his father Vernon was in charge of his personal affairs. He was in charge of Elvis’ finances and the staffing and management of the Graceland grounds. Visitors can see a swing set Elvis bought for his daughter Lisa Marie and her pals in the 1970s as they approach Vernon’s office.
