Cautious of Strangers
I was taught to be wary of interacting with strangers during my upbringing. However, as I matured, I came to realize that there might be something to learn from each encounter with unfamiliar individuals. Swedes, valuing their privacy, tend to avoid engaging with unknown people.
Whether waiting in line at a coffee shop, standing at a bus stop, or encountering neighbors in your building, initiating a conversation with a stranger is typically discouraged in Sweden. Respecting personal space and minimizing casual interactions aligns with their belief that such exchanges are unproductive.
