18. Flowers
The tradition of showing fresh flowers in your home is common in Europe, but it should really be done more often in the United States. Fresh flowers add color to a room, and they also smell nice. There is something about getting flowers to speak; I actually care. Even if you can’t buy fresh flowers all the time, you might want to wave your hand when you want a visitor. They will not be noticed.
