14. Install lights
Lighting fixtures seem easy enough to install in your home. However, once you remove the installation from the ceiling, there are wires you need to disconnect and reconnect to the new fixture. Even if you turn off the power, there may still be a wire, and it may get an electric shock. It is also possible that the existing hole in the ceiling may be of different sizes, may require it to be filled with plaster, or covered with a bare rose.
A wrong move can be a severe problem when installing a light fixture can be as stressful as a DIY’er. It is true if you need to stand on a ladder to remove something big, like a chandelier. You need a second person to be the commander and keep the ladder, which is always possible. Hiring a handyman to do this job is also not expensive.
