If your house was before 1989 in the US or 2000 in the UK, there is likely asbestos on it. Many years ago, people used asbestos for facades, roof shingles, floors, and more. People thought it was a revolutionary fireproof material, so many builders decided to use it right away. However, there is only one problem – Once the asbestos is broken down, microscopic asbestos particles fly through the air. When you breathe those particles into your lungs, they never get out. Moreover, it is a demonstration that it causes cancer and other serious health problems.

To remove asbestos properly, you need a HAZMAT suit and a professional respirator. You should guarantee your house with plastic to prevent any particles from escaping from the treated area. It is a severe job for a good reason. Some people who regularly turn home have made an effort to learn how to eliminate asbestos themselves. Because they will renovate many houses in their lives, they can also take time and effort to become experts. However, if this is the house where you live forever, and you are not interested in cancer risk, surely pay an expert to do the job for you.
