Laura Lynch: 65 Years Old
Laura Lynch, one of the founding members of The Dixie Chicks, tragically lost her life in a car accident in Texas in December 2023. The accident occurred while she was traveling east on Highway 62, and her vehicle collided with another traveling in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, Laura Lynch was pronounced dead at the scene, and it was reported that she was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after their car caught fire.
Lynch co-founded The Dixie Chicks in 1989 alongside Robin Lynn Macy, Martie Erwin, and Emily Erwin. She initially played the upright bass and later assumed a singing role. Although she recorded three albums with the group before parting ways, her contributions to the band’s early years were significant. Natalie Maines later joined as her replacement.
