Nick Benedict: 77 Years Old
The star of ‘All My Children’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’ sadly left us in Arizona at 77. He faced complications after undergoing emergency spinal cord surgery that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Heartbreakingly, Benedict passed away on his birthday, as confirmed by an online obituary. On July 15, a touching Facebook post surfaced from a restaurant where his wife, Ginger, works. They also shared a GoFundMe link to help cover bills, food, and potential medical costs during this challenging period.
Many of us will forever remember Benedict for his iconic portrayal of Phil Brent, the beloved husband of Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane in ‘All My Children.’ He made his screen debut in 1973, taking on the role after Richard Hatch, and remained with us until 1978. His exceptional acting in his final season earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series in 1979. Benedict is survived by his devoted wife, Ginger.
