Didn’t See You There
It’s rush hour, and people are squeezing aboard the bus, eager to get to work. The driver presses the button on cue, and the doors close, excluding a few people. One man is having trouble finding a seat. As the bus jostles in the street, he is tossed a few inches to the back. He discovers an empty chair, or so he believes.
The woman squints and rubs her eyes. She’s perplexed. What was this man’s motivation for attempting to sit on her? Sorry for the inconvenience. I didn’t notice you. I pondered… You, um, were a seat. Her face is flushed. What? The man attempts to explain himself. Since your clothing had the same design as the seat, I hadn’t seen you.
