I’m furious at this point, so phone the HOA again and want an explanation of the problem. Finally, I’m told that “neighbors” thought my mailbox needed to be painted or replaced because it looked a little weathered. In other words, it wasn’t dark enough for them. As a result, If**ked painted it.

After a few months, I discovered that the HOA would replace a mailbox because our contract covers it. So I called them and asked why they threatened to punish me when they should have returned it if it was not up to code.
