Find the size of a dog house before you start
Small dogs will do fine in a smaller dog home, but larger dogs need just as much space. But what size is best for dogs? This is the question a lot of dog owners ask themselves. To find out, you need to know your dog’s height and weight. You will want the barn entrance to be 75% of the dog’s shoulder height. The door height should be several inches or more of your dog’s size.
The standard guide from humane societies, dog trainers and veterinarians, is that the place needs to be wide enough for your dog to stand up, lie down comfortably and swing indoors of them.
