Who Says That?
The importance of employee time off is not to be underestimated. It enables individuals to plan and maintain a work-life balance, and it’s unjust to detain employees on a whim indefinitely. Even if this person had a genuine need to remain at work, there were more considerate ways to address the situation.
It should not have been difficult for the management to show compassion toward this person and their waiting girlfriend in the car. The ownership’s response was absurd and insulting, to the extent that it would prompt most people to quit on the spot.
