31. High-speed photography

We have all attempted to catch some motion shots with numerous degrees of success at some points. However, are you happy with the result? If not, we might be able to help. In this case, you need to speed up the camera shutter you’re currently using. Most phone cameras do not always have a high shutter speed, so perhaps a camera will be more fitting. Different lenses hold different rates, too, so if you want to explore this area further, brush up on your lens knowledge.

Shutter speed is the amount of time where the camera shutter remains open, exposing light to the camera sensor. That means the amount of time that your camera spends taking a frame. The point of that aspect is that it freezes motion in that fraction of a second, for example, you can capture exactly what liquid or powder looks like. With practice, you will learn and discover which angles and lighting are the best. The quicker the shutter’s velocity, the more gestures you will catch. The slower shutter speeds are excellent for shots like waterfalls, you would still need a tripod for that.
