Instead of a backdrop or printed pattern, these images are taken by using a cover above the light source. You can use different materials for this cover, such as acetate, cardboard, and tape. Colored acetate, though it is not needed, can create various environments. You can also consider using white or neutral backgrounds as well. While attaching your cover with the tape, make sure to avoid touching the bulb as it can be quite hot. If it’s not in use, turn it off. Safety first!
Drop oil on your acetate cover and mix in some water – while they won’t blend, their presence will form a beautiful mosaic. You will be able to find a pattern to combine them and create a signature look with enough practice! Try adding other elements once you get comfortable with this technique and see how they react, such as vinegar, coarse salt, or colored spices!
