Commercial Recording Facility

3. Originally A Commercial Recording Facility

Initially, the concept of Paisley Park was to become a commercial recording facility for the Prince’s record label. Many famous artists have recorded at least one song here. In 1994, amid a great feud with Warner Brothers Records, Warner Brothers terminated the distribution contract for Paisley Park’s albums, effectively closing his studio. After that failure, Prince continued to live in Paisley Park and produce music from home.
