No Dancing in Night Clubs

Surprisingly, most nightclubs in Japan do not allow dancing. Many of these establishments prominently display disclaimers that state, “Please, No dancing,” and patrons can even be asked to leave if they are caught dancing.

This restriction is due to a law passed in 1984, which requires clubs to obtain dancing licenses only if they have a floor space exceeding 710 square feet. Given the high cost and scarcity of real estate in Japan, finding a nightclub with enough space to meet this requirement can be both expensive and challenging.
