Avoid Eating While Walking
In Western cultures, it is relatively common to see people eating while walking, but this practice is considered impolite in Japan. While it is acceptable to eat while on a local train or bus, consuming food on long-distance express trains is strongly discouraged and viewed with disapproval.
However, there are a few exceptions to this rule as eating an Ice-cream on the streets of Japan is not considered rude or sloppy. It is also not considered impolite to drink while standing beside a vending machine.
