Starting Over

The previous years were full of hardship, but the Wilders persisted. They needed to regroup and regain their strength to build a new life. It would be a long journey, as life is, but they would recover from their tragedy and make their way in life.

In one photograph taken in 1891, a reunited Ingalls family is shown. Laura is in the center with her hand on her father’s shoulder, and she looks to be in good spirits despite everything she went through. Caroline sits on the left, and next to her is Carrie, while Mary sits on the right with Grace.
