Mercy James
Mercy James, born in 2006, was adopted by Madonna from Malawi in 2009. She is approximately a year younger than her older brother, David Banda.
On various occasions, Madonna and Mercy James have been seen together in pictures shared on social media, indicating a close bond between them. The singer has described her daughter as “the kindest, most thoughtful, most magical girl on the planet!” In 2017, Madonna established the Mercy James Institute for Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care in Malawi, naming it after her daughter.
