Many of you are familiar with Courtney Love, the famous rockstar musician and widow of Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain. Courtney bought a house in Washington State in 1995, just a year after her husband passed away. The house is situated on a lovely forested lot. Strangely, she bought this house because it doesn’t seem to fit her personality. Maybe she just wanted to get outside and enjoy the scenery. Courtney Love was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, but spent much of her adult life in Los Angeles after her career took off. Kurt was born and raised in Aberdeen, Washington. Perhaps she was trying to honor her late spouse by purchasing a house an hour away in Olympia, Washington.

On the other hand, Courtney was clearly incapable of maintaining the house and its several outbuildings on her alone. Or maybe this house just brought back bad memories. As a result, she never lived there. In 2011, Courtney attempted to sell the house, but no one was interested. Courtney Love said in 2018 that she planned to sell the mansion once more. She had to sell it for only $320,000 at the time, which was a tremendous loss since she had purchased it for $447,000. The agent didn’t hold back telling the possible buyer that almost everything needed to be fixed up on the real estate listing. Someone made an offer, and it was eventually sold to a new owner who was willing to fix it up.
