11.The Murder House in Los Feliz
If you’re a true crime fan, you’ve probably heard of The Los Feliz Murder Mansion. The Perelson house was lovely, and it blended well in with the fashionable Hollywood area. Dr. Harold Perelson murdered his wife and planned to murder his three children in the middle of the night in 1959. He also intended to use poison to kill himself after that. But his oldest daughter punched him in the head and helped her two younger siblings flee the house before he could. Criminal investigators tried to figure out why Dr. Perelson would do this, and they concluded that it was due to financial difficulties. The creepy part is that the spouse had left Dante’s Divine Comedy open on his bedside table that night. This is a poem about a journey through Hell, in case you didn’t know.
The residence was sold to the Enriquez family two years after the murders. They refused to live in the house and instead used it as a storage facility. The family-owned the place for decades until it was passed down to their son. He decided to sell the house in 2016, and it was purchased by a young couple who planned to renovate it.
