26. Coco Chanel’s Mansion in Scotland

With 700 acres in the Scottish Highlands, the place had served as Coco Chanel’s secret getaway. The famous designer managed to redesign all 22 rooms of her mansion in the 1920s. Now, it has become a historical and priceless property. Moreover, she once invited her friend Winston Churchill for a short visit back in the day. Interestingly, Winston Churchill later wrote a letter to his wife, saying that Chanel spent most of her time outside fishing in the nearby river.

However, whatever happens, will happen. Chanel had to transfer ownership to a new owner when she died. Fortunately, whoever purchased the place decided to keep its original design. After four years in the market, it was bought for 3 million dollars. The new owners planned to turn it into a luxury hotel, but it still remained empty and filled with old Coco Chanel furniture till this day.
