Blamed For Her Brother’s Tragic Death
At one point, Gladys decided to move Marilyn into a home she shared with the Atkinsons, an English couple who worked in the movies. Tragically, soon after they started living together, news arrived that Gladys’ grandfather had taken his own life, and her son Robert had met a tragic end.
These two devastating events pushed her to the brink, and in her anguish, she began blaming Marilyn for their deaths. She yelled at Marilyn, expressing that she should have been the one to die instead.
