As the budget for “Something’s Got To Give” became tight, the film executives had to take action. Despite being aware of Marilyn’s sinusitis and her need for ample rest, studio heads began spreading rumors that she was faking her illness.
By laying this groundwork, they sued Marilyn for $750,000 in damages. However, at the insistence of co-star Dean Martin, they eventually attempted to resume filming before her untimely death.
