A Dark Side
Few know that rock musician Marilyn Manson derived his stage name from Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson. When questioned about the reason for choosing those two particular names, Manson explained that it was to project a dichotomy between good and evil.
Interestingly, in his autobiography, Manson suggested that nobody ever suspects the Monroe half might be just as dark as the Manson half. He wrote, “Marilyn Monroe had a dark side, just as Charles Manson has a good, intelligent side.”
