3. “I have an uncontrollable rage” – Doctor here.
A beautiful 17-year-old child lives in a wealthy family and receives love from his parents. She had a tumor in her pelvis (rhabdomyoma) that we could remove to cure her potentially. However, the parents rejected this and chemotherapy and wanted to try holistic medicine because it made more sense for them. The last time I saw her was 3 years ago; she had enlarged lymph nodes in her groin because they were unsightly. It was a metastatic disease, and the parents did not want to remove the primary tumor and refused chemotherapy.
I can see 100 patients a week, which is a lot of horribly sad cases. But I feel sorry for that girl who listened to her parents at the cost of her life. I bet she’s dead now. Indeed, the doctors are not trying to deceive you, give you unnecessary care, or have some ulterior motive in this setting. But 99.99% of doctors are treating patients the same way they treat family, so try not to deny it. We want to help.
