Hungry
The person in this exchange was quite hungry, as they had 7-Eleven on their mind. Otherwise, I can’t see how “9/11” and “7-Eleven” could be easily confused. Besides the “eleven” part, the words don’t sound very similar. They were probably already thinking about 7-Eleven when their friend mentioned “9/11.”
This response probably led to an awkward silence as their friend tried to understand it. I wonder if they ended up going to 7-Eleven or having a profound conversation about “9/11.” Maybe both. The lesson we can take from this story? Don’t jump to conclusions when you’re hungry.
