17. Classic Paintings

That paintings can be too costly is no secret. Auction houses such as Christie’s and Southeby’s sell paintings for millions of dollars each daily. The probability that you will find a million-dollar picture in your attic is slim. However, you may find an original oil painting or an art piece created by a family member. The picture could still be worth anything, even if the individual is not famous.

Only make sure that the painting, not a copy or a print, is an original work. They are not as precious. The consistency, of course, also matters a lot. Try to market it as ‘outsider art’ if anything is wrong and quirky.
