14. Coffee Grinder

To make their drink, modern-day coffee snobs want to take whole coffee beans and grind them down. We have electric grinders today. But years ago, a cast iron coffee grinder crushed the beans. Most people who find it in their house don’t know what it’s used for. But do NOT give it to the thrift store if you find one! Many sell for a few hundred dollars, and some labels also go for well over 1,000 dollars.

Just be careful to be sure that this is not a modern-day replica if you spot one at a thrift shop or yard sale. For only $35 to $50, Amazon offers antique-style coffee grinders. They have little to no value for resale. So do make sure it is antique.
