19. The Legendary Ghost Lights of Jadukata River

In the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the Jadukata River is believed to be the abode of supernatural beings. Locals claim that the river emits mysterious ghostly lights, known as “Aleya,” that float above the water’s surface. 

Often described as blue or green, these lights appear and disappear in a mesmerizing dance, captivating those who witness them. Folklore attributes the lights to the spirits of fishermen or pirates who met tragic ends in the river. The enigmatic phenomenon continues to puzzle scientists, who have not provided a definitive explanation for the ethereal lights.
