#56: Have a Break, Have a KitKat

These days, “zero waste” and “sustainability” are buzzwords everywhere, but not long ago, people saw avoiding waste as simple common sense rather than a trendy lifestyle. If something was still useful — especially if it was delicious — you didn’t toss it out.

Nestlé has reportedly followed that mindset for years. When a batch of KitKat wafers didn’t turn out quite right, instead of throwing them away, they crushed them up and used them as filling inside new KitKat bars. The result? You’d never know the difference. It’s a strangely satisfying loop: imperfect KitKats reborn inside other KitKats.
