#57: Dinosaurs Make Us Look Like Newcomer

Humans tend to act like we’re the main event of planet Earth — and in modern times, we kind of are. But when you zoom out over millions of years, our run here is actually very short. We’ve been around for roughly a few million years in various forms, which sounds impressive… until you remember dinosaurs ruled the planet for about 165 million years.

They dominated land, sea, and air for a timespan our brains can barely process. Compared to them, we’re the new kids who just moved into the neighborhood. It’s humbling to realize that for most of Earth’s history, we weren’t part of the story at all.
