Glenn Close’s depiction of a crazed stalker in Fatal Attraction might have made her a star—gaining her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance—but she has since opened up about how deeply she regrets the impact the movie has had on mental health stigma.
“That did nothing but feed into the stigma (of mental illness),” she said to Radio Times. “They made her into a psychopath … More interesting now would be the story from her point of view.”
