Few things have had American society as divided as the final season of Game of Thrones. Was the bloodthirsty ending an epic finale to the show’s eight seasons of grandiose conflict? Or did it throw almost a decade of character development in the bin?
Well, star Emilia Clarke did not mince her words about how she felt about her character’s spectacular fall from grace. “I cried,” she admitted to Entertainment Weekly when she first read the script. “Because it comes out of f—ing nowhere. I’m flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming.”
