Grace Jones in “A View to a Kill”
Iconic model and actress Grace Jones made history with her scene-stealing role as a Bond girl in the 1985 movie A View to a Kill. However, years later, she revealed the untold racial tensions behind the scenes of the iconic movie.
“There was some anxiety about having a black woman as a villain,” she wrote in her 2015 autobiography, I’ll Never Write My Memoirs. “A Bond movie is, for all the appearance of sex and violence, a fundamentally very conservative franchise.”
