Curtains, in general, do not have to be costly to look nice. You should match your curtains to the size of your windows as well as the length from floor to ceiling. If you have windows that do not fit the regular curtain sizes available in shops, you can need to pay someone to make custom drapes for you.
Some people believe that paying a sewist to make custom drapes is something that only the wealthy can afford. It will, however, be worthwhile in the end.
